Behind the Graphics: Bringing “KIDS WHO FLIP” to Life

We’re thrilled to pull back the curtain on our latest collaboration: the fresh, fun, and frenetic home‑remodeling series Kids Who Flip, which follows 12–17‑year‑olds teaming up with their parents to buy, renovate, and sell houses across the country. At EYEIDEA Studios, we had the privilege of designing every graphic, 3D animation, and visual effect that gives this show its one‑of‑a‑kind look—here’s how we did it.

Say Hello to the Team

I’d like you to meet the creative forces behind the camera and in the edit bay:

  • Bill Allen (7 Figure Flipping), our charismatic host who guides families through each season of the flip.

  • Lisa Arnold, director, who steered each episode with a keen eye for both heartwarming family moments and dramatic “reveal” shots.

  • Ryan Whitefield, creator and executive producer, whose vision for putting kids front-and-center in the real‑estate game set the tone for our graphics.

  • Nick Schroeder, Ryan T. Johnson, and Corey Cannon, the producing trio who kept ten fast‑paced episodes on schedule and ensured our VFX needs were met at every turn.

  • Chad J.W. Anderson (that’s me!), graphics producer at EYEIDEA Studios, coordinating motion graphics, 3D animation, and visual fx.

  • A huge shoutout to our Evolve Post team: Melissa Floreth, our Post Supervisor who kept everything running smoothly; Hamilton Wang, Assistant Video Editor, who helped manage the editorial pipeline; Chris Farfan, our Finishing Producer, who handled the final polish; and Zach Prichard, Lead Editor at Evolve Post in Franklin, TN, who skillfully wove our graphics into the live action and oversaw finishing touches.

Crafting a Signature Visual Identity

From the start, Ryan wanted “something bold, but not over the top”—a nod to the ambitious spirit of these young renovators. Our approach:

    • Show Branding & On-Air Graphics
Custom logos, lower thirds, transitions, and styled overlays to match the show’s modern, high-energy tone.

    • 3D Animation & Motion Design
House transformations, animated blueprints, progress highlights, and dynamic reveals.

    • Visual Effects (VFX)
Blueprint vfx on live action footage and other high-impact elements to enhance key renovation and reveal moments.

    • Graphic Integration with Live Action
Seamless compositing of graphics into real-world footage for a cohesive and cinematic look.

Across all ten episodes, our goal was consistency without repetition: each flip gets new progress and info. The color palette and graphic flavor all feel unmistakably “Kids Who Flip.”

Looking Ahead

“Kids Who Flip” wraps its first season with a riot of renovated rooms, surprised parents, and—most importantly—the confidence those young flippers gained along the way. For EYEIDEA Studios, this series was more than another credit; it was an opportunity to push our motion‑graphics pipeline, collaborate deeply with partners like Evolve Post, and innovate in After Effects and Cinema 4D to tell a story that’s equal parts inspiration and design showcase.
